Sports Teams Selection Policy & Kit
Posted by BOYS PE DEPTSELECTION POLICY.
- All boys must attend their TEAM practice in order to be eligible for selection for the forthcoming fixture.
- If they are unable to attend the practice, but have informed the member of staff, then they will still be considered for selection.
- If they are injuried and attend the practice, then they will still be considered for selection if they will be fit enough to play in the forthcoming fixture.
- Selection is based on their performance, attitude and effort during practice and not who and where they play outside school.
- From the squads, a team will be selected (Rugby 15 + 4 & Football 11 + 3) for each fixture. We have found that selecting too many subs only disrupts each team.
- Depending on the game situation, subs will come on at half time.
- If there is competition for positions, then the member of staff will operate a rotation process.
- If a team is struggling to field a competitive team due to illness, injury or low attendence to team practice, then the PE will make a selection in order to avoid the fixture being cancelled.
It is the school's and PE departments policy that school fixtures take precedence over club matches. If you have an issue with this please contact the Headmaster.
Please refer to the school calendar for all this terms fixtures. If you find a clash with a prior engagement, please inform the teacher incharge asap, via a note so that a full squad can be selected for each fixture.
KIT REQUIREMENTS
All pupils are expected to wear correct PE kit to every home and away fixture.
- They should wear -school tracksuit bottoms, school splash top or school hoodie, trainers, school sports socks, blue school shorts and ensure that they have shin pads / gumshield and fully studded boots.
- If a pupils arrives in in-correct kit, then they might not take part in the fixture.
- Footbal Team Shirts will be provided and the team coach will elect a player to wash the shirts at the end of each fixture. This will be done on a rotation basis.
