Charities
We strongly encourage charitable giving activities at Claremont Fan Court School. Our policy is to support those charities that are involved in the education and well being of the less fortunate. Our chosen charities foster values that are integral to the school mission: courtesy, respect, trust, moral integrity, self discipline, and love for God and man.
We actively support several charities throughout the school year. These include those that we regularly support such as the Salvation Army, British Legion (Poppy Appeal), Amnesty International, Samaritan’s Purse, Sunrise of Africa; and also others chosen for a specific reason. The latter may be those picked for the Sixth Form Charity Week or as a result of some national or international incident that prompts our pupils to raise funds.
During the current school year (2010/11) the Junior School has collected for several charities but have also given food at Harvest thanksgiving time to our elderly neighbours, invited them to school activities and have collected for various disaster funds such as the earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand. The Senior School’s collection for the Salvation Army’s Christmas hampers this year was exceptionally generous. These hampers go to families in the local area and the Salvation Army expressed much gratitude because they were experiencing a shortage because of the current financial situation. The Sixth Form charity week raised nearly £7000. This money will be split three ways between the Lawrence Roundabout Well Appeal, Help for Heroes and World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA).”
