I welcome your interest in Claremont Fan Court School’s Senior School and Sixth Form. We are a growing school of 445 senior students (Year 7 through to the Sixth Form) with an outstanding reputation for nurturing each child’s character, academic and co-curricular excellence. Claremont Fan Court is a school of fine traditions and forward looking educational thinking that will prepare our girls and boys for GCSE and A level examinations with the goal of helping them secure places at the best British and overseas universities.

At Claremont Fan Court School, academic and pastoral care go hand in hand. It is possible to have the highest academic standards as well as have an outstanding and distinctive quality of care. Pupils are challenged academically and succeed. We teach in small class sizes – no more than 20 in a class at Years 7, 8 and 9 falling to 16 in a class at GCSE. Sixth Form classes are typically 8-12 students per class. Heads of Departments are very focused on academic breadth and standards, and continually work to support progressive and effective teaching. At Claremont, your child can expect the very best education taught by a dedicated team of staff who embrace our values and family atmosphere. Our commitment is clear; we offer the best teaching staff qualified in their subject; specialised learning environments; and a world of opportunity in our academic and co-curricular programmes underpinned by strong Christian values.

Our extensive curriculum linked with cutting edge technology, supported by strong pastoral care, enables us to nurture each child to develop a social conscience, an international outlook and develop their natural spirituality. They build a steely determination whilst knowing they are held responsible for running their lives and contributing to those of their friends. Our tutors and Year Heads carefully and closely monitor each child who is invariably happy, successful and generous and matures into a fine young adult. Pupils are encouraged to explore new ideas, try activities, develop skills and make lasting friendships. They become leaders for life based on Claremont values, experiences and education.
The Senior School is centred in the mansion building set in the middle of one hundred acres of Capability Brown landscape forming our safe and inspiring environment. Mathematics, English, languages, humanities and arts are taught within the mansion. Further specialist buildings house science laboratories, music and drama facilities, technology and IT rooms, the sports hall and gymnasium. With sports facilities including lacrosse, netball, football, rugby, cricket and tennis on site and room to spare at the door, our school environment encourages an awareness of our world and our responsibility for it. There is space to live and breathe without the hectic chasing that is often associated with school. The buildings, setting, and ethos all contribute to an atmosphere that visitors frequently remark upon.
Over recent years, we have increased our academic standard for entry to the Senior School but an education system only based on passing exams fails children. An all-round school means truly educating a child for life and developing their intelligence in the broadest way.
The most recent Independent Schools Inspection notes:

Claremont Fan Court School has become a leader in combining independent learning and technology to provide a stimulating learning environment from which staff and pupils gain impressive benefits.
Pupils’ social development is outstanding because the school is a supportive community that retains a strong ethic of concern for others.
Educating children is a great responsibility and privilege. If you are a parent of a child already at the School, thank you for entrusting us with that job. If you are considering sending your child to Claremont Fan Court, please come and see us, meet our children and staff and talk to me about our vision for the Senior School in the coming years. We welcome your interest and encourage you to join us for a tour of the School to discover for yourself the benefit of an independent education for your child at Claremont Fan Court School.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
