Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception
The aim of Claremont Fan Court Pre-Preparatory and Nursery School is to ensure that the beginning of a child’s education is a happy and fulfilling experience. We encourage enthusiasm for learning in a stimulating and creative environment with qualified, experienced teachers and assistants. Values for life are taught in a supportive and caring atmosphere with shared aims and aspirations between home and School. The School is set in the beautiful Claremont estate which provides an extraordinary backdrop for School life.
The Pre-Preparatory and Nursery School is situated in wooded grounds where children have the freedom to grow and develop in a secure and healthy environment. Here we cater for the needs of Claremont Fan Court’s youngest children in purpose built accommodation with excellent facilities and resources.
We place a strong emphasis on acquiring sound knowledge and skills in literacy and numeracy whilst ensuring every opportunity is provided to explore each child’s potential in creative, sporting and musical activities.
The teaching ethos in the Nursery and Reception classes is varied and practical. Children are encouraged to explore, question and enjoy their learning. Spacious classrooms offer a wide range of exciting learning areas including dedicated story and role play corner, literacy and numeracy zones, an IT bay and areas for investigative and imaginative challenges.
The exciting outdoor learning environment has a large sandpit, an expansive grassy area and exciting adventure climbing apparatus. There is a hard surface for riding bikes, a playhouse and covered space for painting and water-based activities.
Early Years teachers observe, nurture, extend and develop children in their first learning experiences. This enables teachers to prepare a detailed profile of each child which forms the basis of their future learning.
