Whilst the majority of our intake is from the Pre-Preparatory School, there are also spaces for a number of external applicants into Year Three. Limited places are occasionally available in other year groups; early registration is recommended and places are allocated strictly on a ‘first come, first served’ basis subject to candidates fulfilling our entry criteria.
The procedure is as follows:
Pupils are invited to sit an assessment relevant to their age-group. This consists of a test in mathematics, English, non-verbal reasoning and (at our discretion) verbal reasoning. During the day they will also spend time in class with their peers and have a short chat with the Head.
A report is requested from the previous school – to help us assess levels of attainment and behaviour as well as to inform us about other achievements in sport, music, art or drama.
Any decision will be based on the consideration of the whole child, including good behaviour and (when appropriate) an agreement with parents that they will pay for specific IN or EAL support if it is deemed necessary by the school. The formal offer of a place will be received in writing from the Head.
