Y1 Grandparents' Tea Party
8 March 2017
If you go down to the woods today…
There were teddies, laughter, song, tea and cake at the Grandparents’ tea party this year. The Year 1 children had a magnificent repertoire prepared by Mrs Holland and were accompanied on the piano by Director of Music, Mr Affonso. The Pre-Prep hall had been beautifully decorated with bunting and handmade spring-themed paper flowers on the tables. All the guests were invited to join in the songs which were a compilation of traditional tunes, including the teddy bears’ picnic alongside classics from the 60s and 70s and finally some musical stage show pieces. After the performance, the Grandparents' were given a tour of the children’s classrooms and had the opportunity to view their work on the display boards. There was also an extra surprise as each child had carefully made and painted a clay pinch pot for their guests to take home as a reminder of a most enjoyable afternoon.
