Heads of Year lead the pastoral care within the Senior School and oversee the work of the tutors in each of their four tutor groups. Heads of Year also deliver the weekly PSHE programme to each pupil in their year group. As a result, Heads of Year know their pupils very well and are able to provide support, advice and encouragement to every member of their year group.
The programme of study for PSHE is designed by the Heads of Year to show progression in understanding and knowledge from Year 7 to Upper Sixth.
The role of the Head of Year is to support, encourage, inspire and motivate the pupils in their year group. Heads of Year provide a secure environment for young children to mature in to compassionate, caring young adults with a sound moral compass and understanding of the world. When necessary the Discipline Code is used as a firm guide to acceptable behaviour.
Heads of Year can be contacted through the main Senior School email. They offer appointments each week for parents to speak with them about pastoral concerns.
