The House System is a key element of the School activities, with every pupil part of one of four Houses in which they work together to earn points and develop skills.
Within each House, pupils are also assigned to a family which includes children from each Prep year group. This provides greater links between the School, gives the older children opportunities to act as leaders and for the younger pupils to learn from their peers.A designated afternoon at the start of each term is chosen for the girls and boys to work across the age ranges in their House families.
A key component of earning points is by competing in numerous sporting activities. Everyone taking part earns points for their House, fostering the idea of teamwork and participation. There are competitions in football, netball, rugby, rounders, cross country and the annual Sports Day. Here, every pupil competes in two individual running races, a field event and the House relay.
Pupils can also receive points for their hard work and good behaviour in lessons and for taking part in other co-curricular activities and competitions. This could include speaking at an Open Morning, performing on an instrument in an assembly or helping in the library.
