The House System plays an important part in the everyday activities of the children to help encourage teamwork and responsibility. This includes:
Children who work particularly hard or show kindness and good behaviour are able to sign their House Book. Certificates are then given out on a regular basis to praise their good behaviour and hard work.
Children can be awarded these in a variety of ways and are given a coloured token for each point they earn. These are then collected in tubes by the hall so everyone can see how well each House is doing.
Children sit in their Houses for this weekly Friday assembly. Amongst many other celebrations, the House cup is awarded to the House with the most House Points that week, showing how everyone can contribute to their team.
A pupil from Year 2 is appointed as House Captain for a term for each House. This is a great chance for them to develop responsibilities and demonstrate to younger children how to behave and work successfully as part of a team. This year's Captains are:
|House||Autumn Term||Spring Term||Summer Term|
Each term a different House organises a fundraiser for a chosen charity, most recenlty Battersea Dogs Home.
Annual competitions also take place where all children can take part and work as a team to earn points in fun and creative activities. Competitions include a House Music Day and the Summer Sports Day.
