House System

Every pupil, from the Pre-Preparatory through to the Sixth Form, is a member of a ‘house’ in which they remain throughout their education. There are four houses at Claremont Fan Court School:

  • Esher (green)
  • Longcross (yellow)
  • Norwood (blue)
  • Radnor (red)

The Senior and Prep House systems lead to an overall House winner at the culmination of the year, with termly updates. The Pre-Prep has a weekly House winner which is announced at Friday's Celebration Assembly.

The house system is an additional pastoral tool promoting school allegiance and a sense of belonging amongst all pupils. Pupils quickly form a loyalty to their house and a sense of fun and friendly competition pervades at all events.

Earning Points

Every pupil is able to earn points for their House. They can take part in one of the many events (as described below). Points are also awarded during lessons to pupils who work hard, show good behaviour and perform acts of kindness.

House events take place throughout the year and include sporting, academic and artistic disciplines. Over the course of the year pupils can expect to participate or cheer on teammates in the following:

  • Jenga
  • engineering
  • jigsaw
  • recycled fashion
